Shadow is affectionately called "Missyface" and "Puttytat." Shadow in our "indoor" cat...we got her when she was just 6 weeks old to help with our dog "Shane" who was slowly fading. She has been a pleasure for all of us and made the transition from "losing" Shane easier to stand. She is a real Princess and finicky...She'll come to you when "she is good and ready." Now that our son is at UMASS, she has decided to take over his bed!!!
Butterscotch was our "stray" cat who one day showed up and had remained. His was affectionately called "the old man" or "Butts." Butts loved to be petted and cuddled...and tried to ignore Shadow when he was invited in the house and sat with the Mrs. We "lost" Butterscotch 7/10/03. May he rest in peace.
Both Shadow and Butterscotch had this unwritten agreement: "You don't bother me, and I won't bother you!" Although Shadow liked Butts to know who was the "Princess" of the house when he came in...She gave this "hissing" sound that really wouldn't scare a flea, and all he did was to look and her as if to say, "Hey, kid don't bother me.!!" We love 'em both....

Here is our beloved SHANE
..born Nov.17, 1977...died Nov. 17, 1994.
Shane was part Labrador and part German Shepard. A great swimmer and family protector. Shane was partly responsible for Ross learning to walk. Ross would hold onto Shane's tail and off they would go!! He loved the mountain house in the Poconos, and one time took off and chased five deer as if to say, "Hey, Guys!! "Ya wanna play!!"

He had a knack for using his nose to nudge you for what he wanted!! He was just a "big" lovable pal!

Shane's last months were made easier when we got Shadow. She seemed to take his mind off of his pain. When they first met, she hissed at him and that was it...soon she would be playing with him, lying down next to him, and cuddling up to him. He took it all in stride...as if to say, "Hey, Kid! You're alright!! You got a great home here..!" (We'll post some of those pictures soon..)
Shane...we miss him terribly!! The memories will never be replaced!!
